A few weeks ago I wrote about Walmart’s Baby Box Set. They send you three different gift boxes- one for prenatal, one for a baby, and one for a toddler. Each box contains samples and costs only the five dollars for shipping. Last week I received the second box, my infant box. It contained the following samples and coupons:
- Arm & Hammer Sensitive Laundry Detergent (2.25 fl oz)
- Aveeno Baby Lotion (1 fl oz)
- Aveeno Lotion (1 fl oz)
- Huggies Travel Wipes pack (8 count)
- Mam Anti-colic bottle
- 1 Huggies Diaper (size newborn)
- $3 off huggies diapers
- $1 off Arm & Hammer Sensitive Laundry Detergent
- $3 off Pure Bliss formula by Similac
- $2.50 off of Lysol
We are already fans of Aveeno so I liked the samples! However, I don’t think we will end up using the bottle because I breastfeed and the few times we have used a bottle she likes the Phillips brand. So it was cool, but in this box’s case probably not worth the five dollars it cost to ship. I could have just bought an actual bottle of lotion! That said, I do love getting mail though, so not a total waste haha.
I can’t wait to see what the third and final box contains!!
When I first found out I was pregnant I immediately signed up for every baby club or free benefit option posibble. It was all so exciting!! I signed up online for a membership with a company called Similac on November 6th. I promptly forgot all about it until December 1st when I received a Similac membership card in the mail. That was all that was sent however, so I quickly forgot about it again. Besides that the membership basically allows you to enter codes on product you’ve bought. Well I haven’t bought any of their product!
(Similac is a company that makes formula, which I have zero use for right now. One, because my baby was unborn. Two, because I didn’t know if we were going to have to use formula. Finally, three, because I didn’t even know if our baby would be able to use this formula!)
However, on April 24th our first “perk” package arrived! It was a cute box with two samples of their formula as well as a few coupons. It was a cute little surprise. The formula won’t expire for some time, so I put it up in the kitchen cabinet with Nolie’s bottles. I’ll have to update this post later on if she likes it!
Thursday I got to take one of my favorite little kids from Michael and I’s Sunday school class out for an afternoon! He is literally one of the best things about living here! I picked Q up and we decided to make a stop at the store and buy picnic supplies. It was so fun pushing him around. He insisted on keeping every single thing shoved up in his front buggy seat. It was precious. Our final picnic menu included the following:
- A carton of strawberries
- One orange (specifically picked out by Q)
- A pizza lunchable
- Simply lemonade with blueberry
- One Ninja Turtle blue plastic cup
- Two cans of silly string
The pizza lunchable, as I later found out, was actually not for eating, but for making sauce sandwiches. Those sandwiches were then used to smear sauce everywhere! haha. Always a fun day with that goose.
I took Q down to Two Rivers Park. I had never been, but I am so glad that we tried it! There was no litter, had two separate playgrounds, and wasn’t crowded. It also had decently clean bathrooms and beautiful green hills surrounding it. After we finished our rocking picnic under a gorgeous tree, we played in the playground a little farther back into the park. We started with a silly string war. Then moved on to the swings. It was a lot of fun!
At one point Q decided to climb up the big covered slide. He was using all the muscles in both his arms and legs to brace himself and climb upwards. On his first attempt, Q literally slipped, fell on his back, and slide down into my arms! We made eye contact and I held my breath, waiting to see if the tears were coming. His eyes got wide as he stared at me, but I was relieved when he burst out into hysterical laughter!
Q jumped up and started at it again! He kept tumbling down, but his resolve never weakened. At one point I could hear him panting, repeating the phrase, “I think I can do it. I think I can do it!!!” The mommy in me was beaming in pride. I hope he never looses his resolve to accomplish his goals. I think it’s important to learn from the small things in life. I think today I was shown a little lesson in working hard and not giving up. I hope you are as inspired as I am!
